Audience: The audience is employees who range in age from 30-50 years and who work in the IT department of Hippocrates Health. They are a mixture of males and females who are supervisors for different divisions. The supervisors have prior knowledge of CPR and need a refresher course. It has been 2 years since their last CPR class.
Business Problem: Many of the employees have CPR certifications that have expired. Having knowledge of how to perform CPR is one of the requirements on each employees’ contract. Since many employees have not had training in the past 2 years, their confidence in performing CPR effectively has diminished. This inability to perform CPR effectively causes future clients to be placed in a vulnerable state.
Solution: To effectively help with this problem, it is recommended that each employee take part in an e-learning course and a performance-based assessment every 2 years. The business goal is to have 90% of the workforce feel confident in providing life saving exercises.

Process: Before creating this e-Learning course, an analysis of the audience, content and business problem needed to be completed. A design document was created and provided to all stakeholders for review. Once all stakeholders reviewed the design document a storyboard was created to provide more detailed information on how the e-Learning course would be presented. The learners would be evaluated with Kirkpatrick's 4 Levels of Evaluation in mind. Level 2 assessments would include five questions at the end of the course. The questions are scenario-based and would require the learner to score 80% or higher to pass. The learner would also have unlimited attempts to pass the quiz. Throughout the course, the learner would be provided knowledge checks in order to monitor his/her learning. In order to see if the learners are actually applying their learning, a Level 3 evaluation would include a performance-based assessment three months after completing the e-Learning course. Each learner would be evaluated using a standardized checklist.
